Roadscore: Invisible String

Roadscore: Invisible String was an exhibition project related to the demolition of the I-195 highway in Providence, Rhode Island. The project resulted from a three week residency curated by Dr. Ian Russell at the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities in Brown University in Providence in April 2010.
Fiona Hallinan worked with students from Dr. Russell's class, Designing Heritage, to realise an archive of experiences of the highway, interviewing local people affected in some way by its building or demolition, and responding to the material of the road itself, through site visits and sound walks, documentation and collecting.
Information on the project, as well as an archive and sound map created through research into the I-195 highway, are available here.
