Ebb Tide Flow

Ebb Tide Flow is a site-specific audio walking tour that was created in Spring/Summer 2010 by Fiona Hallinan and Alex Synge for Kinsale Arts Week and Clipper Week.

Ebb Tide Flow combines recorded oral interviews with original narrative by Hallinan and an original score by composer Alex Synge. The theme of the piece relates changes that the town of Kinsale has seen to other shifts taking place over time: tidal change and its effects, the reclaiming of land, changes in industry, technology, trade and the transformation of the town into a tourist centre. The twenty minute walk directed participants along the Scilly Walk, a walkway on the sea leading from Kinsale town to Charles Fort.
